Price and cost of ownership of Agilent 6890N 5973N

Investing in an Agilent 6890N GC requires careful consideration of both the purchase price and long-term ownership costs. A new system costs approximately $101,000, while a refurbished unit with a warranty averages $18,000, offering substantial savings. Beyond the initial investment, ongoing expenses include carrier gases such as helium or hydrogen, consumables like columns, septa, liners, syringes, and detectors, as well as routine maintenance. Additional costs may include software licenses, updates, and compliance fees, especially in regulated industries. Long-term ownership also involves potential service and repair expenses, which can be substantial if critical components like the injector, detector, or electronic control modules need replacement. A certified refurbished Agilent 6890N GC provides a cost-effective alternative while ensuring reliable performance, as it undergoes rigorous testing and comes with a warranty. For laboratories seeking to optimize their budget, balancing the upfront purchase price with ongoing operational costs is essential for maximizing long-term financial efficiency.
